Biodegrading of Hair

Human hair contains 15% nitrogen and over 35 of the amino acids that add to plant growth. For these properties to be useful to the plant the hair must be applied so that air and moisture can pass through the hair. This allows the hair to biodegrade, releasing the nutrients to the plant roots.  Test by the University of Florida have shown that this release can be measured in plant leaves within two weeks. Noticeable plant growth and greenness can also be noticed in this time period.  In addition to the nutrients, hair when structured properly will hold water at five times the weight of the hair. This allows for the plant to uptake the water as needed and results in up to a 25% reduction in watering. This has been documented by many growers.

When you read articles stating that hair has the right properties for plant growth but it will not break down in time to release these properties, remember that SmartGrow  has structured the hair in such a way that plants respond almost immediately.
